Today we marked the production of ZapCharger Pro charging station no. 5000, at Westcontrol in Rogaland, Norway. Over the past year, there has been a high increase in sales of ZapCharger Pro to electric vehicle owners in Norway and internationally. The production of the ZapCharger Pro charging station started in the autumn of 2016 and has already reached 5000 manufactured units.
ZapCharger Pro is the only EV charging station designed, developed and manufactured in Norway. ZAPTEC received the MADE IN NORWAY award for Western Norway in 2018.
“We are very proud that we have developed a market-leading charging system for electric cars here in Stavanger. Sales figures show that Norwegian technology has a very high status in both Norway and abroad” Fredrik Lima, Sales Manager ZAPTEC
Westcontrol has been with ZAPTEC from the beginning and overseen the product from prototype stage to delivery in large volumes on the market.
“At Westcontrol there’s development all the time and we are being challenged on improving processes and robotizing production. The fact that ZAPTEC has chosen to produce locally on Westcontrol provides more local jobs and proximity between manufacturer and customer provides a good basis for close dialogue and good cooperation. “Leif Petter Skaar, CEO of Westcontrol.
ZAPTEC has had a great value of partnering with a local company with high expertise in electronics. From 2016 to 2017, the sale of charging stations has skyrocketed, which has prompted a quick response from the manufacturer in order to deliver enough charging stations to EV owners. In 2018, ZAPTEC plans to sell a 5 digit number of charging stations, which will be a triple in sale from last year.
The ZapCharger Pro charging station has hardware designed for future challenges. Moving forward exciting features will be released for both new and existing customers. We have now launched ZAPTEC APM, which measure power consumption for the building and automatically allocate unused power to EV charging.
